Taiji is a system of soft, slow continuously flowing movements which cultivate the body's internal energy and harmonising the mind and the body. Taiji develops strength, balance, co-ordination and relaxation. The Form is probably the most well known aspect of Taiji. The Form consists of a series of slow continuous, flowing movements with natural breathing. All movement is performed with calm concen-tration, which is why Taiji is often called
"Mediation in Motion".
Taiji also incorporates a second discipline called Qigong, or Chi Kung. This exercise system dates back over 2000 years; it's purpose being to develop strength and stamina.
